A Day of Smiles and Celebration: Children’s Day Highlights

The event came alive with the enthusiastic participation of 15 Small Christian Communities (SCCs), who set up colourful food and game stalls, offering fun-filled experiences for children and families alike. Their efforts added vibrancy and warmth to the celebration. We also gratefully acknowledge our sponsor, South Indian Bank, who added to the excitement by conducting a lucky prize draw, bringing great joy to the participants.
One of the most heartwarming moments of the day was the Saints March, where children portrayed saints with confidence and creativity, reminding everyone of faith-filled lives worth emulating. The excitement continued with a cheerful fashion show and a variety of fun games, keeping the children engaged and the crowd delighted.

Altar Servers Rally – October 2nd, 2025
On the morning of October 2nd, 2025, the air at Don Bosco’s, Kurla was filled with energy and faith as young people gathered for the Deanery-level Altar Servers Rally. While the day was packed with fellowship and prayer, a major highlight was the series of skits performed by various parishes, each bringing a unique creative touch to the gathering.
The altar servers from Our Lady of Perpetual Succour (OLPS) took to the stage to perform a moving short play about Blessed Carlo Acutis. The performance was built around the powerful theme of Psalm 71:5: “For you, O Lord, are my hope, my trust, O Lord, from my youth.”
The skit beautifully illustrated how a young person in the modern world can find their center in Christ. The OLPS Altar Servers brought the story of Carlo to life by focusing on two main aspects of his journey:
A Modern Witness: The play showed how Carlo, a typical teenager, found his ultimate hope in God rather than in worldly things.
The Digital Apostle: Through clever staging, the servers demonstrated how Carlo used his passion for computers and the internet to document Eucharistic miracles, sharing the message of God’s love with a global audience.
The rally concluded with a sense of unity, as the children left the venue encouraged by the stories of faith. From the moving skits to the shared moments of prayer, it was a day that proved that when young people find their hope in the Lord, they can truly change the world.

Onam Fest – 21st September, 2025
A Celebration of Unity and Tradition
This year’s Onam celebration, was truly a day to remember! With over 250 parishioners coming together, the festival was marked by joy, togetherness, and gratitude for the blessings of our community life.
A Day of Festive Joy
The morning began at 10:30 a.m. with warm welcomes, traditional snacks, and chai that set the tone for the day. The dignified lamp-lighting ceremony followed, symbolizing blessings and unity. A graceful prayer dance and the grand entrance of Mahabali brought Kerala’s rich cultural heritage beautifully to life.
The celebration continued with exciting games like Kai Koti Kali, Musical Chairs, and multiple rounds of Lellam that had both children and adults participating with laughter and cheer.
No Onam is complete without the traditional Onam Sadhya, and this year’s feast was no exception. Served on banana leaves, the flavors, authenticity, and fellowship around the meal made it one of the highlights of the day.
Gratitude to Our Volunteers
Behind the success of this celebration was the dedication of our parishioners who came forward to plan, prepare, and coordinate. From arranging the floral pookalam to organizing games, managing the program flow, and preparing the feast, every detail was a labor of love. A special word of thanks to all who worked quietly behind the scenes to make the day such a joyful experience for everyone.
As one community member beautifully shared:
“The Onam Fest was organised very very well. Kudos to the organising committee!”
A True Spirit of Community
The photo booth buzzed with happy faces, the entertainment kept spirits high, and the fellowship was heartwarming. More than the cultural festivities, what stood out was the sense of unity and joy as our church family came together to celebrate.
We extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended and participated. Your presence and enthusiasm truly made this Onam memorable.
Here’s to many more celebrations of culture, faith, and togetherness in the future.
